Job Requirements: Press & Co. is searching for an inspired, health and wellness conscious, experienced Chef-Manager. This individual will be directly responsible for all daily operation requirements including but not limited to food and recipe creation, inventory management, accounting and budgeting, team hiring, team management, and complying with all state and local safety and sanitation requirements. This individual will be the brand ambassador of Press & Co.. They must possess a strong hospitality background and willingness to ensure each customer has a memorable experience. This is a full-time managerial position with tremendous room for upward mobility and growth as we expand our hospitality portfolio across the Eastern Shore.
To perform this job successfully, the Chef-Manager must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of some of the knowledge, skills, and experience required. • AA or BA in Business Admin preferred or equivalent level experience.
• 3+ years of chef-management experience in the food service industry, including profit and loss
management.
• Experience in recipe creation and execution.
• Proven track record of providing a high level of customer service in the food service/hospitality industry.
• Certified in Serv Safe Manager training and all other pertinent service manager certifications required
under state and local standards.
• Experience in training and developing a hospitality industry team.
• Experience using POS systems to support sales, track inventory, and manage labor costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Planning and executing all daily operation requirements for Press & Co..
• Meet with the owner to ensure alignment with the owner's mission and philosophy.
• Ensure the highest level of quality food production, sourcing, and presentation.
• Create menus with fresh, locally sourced, healthy ingredients.
• Prepare accurate operational plans and budgets.
• Maintain, track, and order the appropriate level of inventory for each operating day.
• Ensure expedient/convenient/hospitable customer service systems and processes are incorporated.
• Ensure Board of Health sanitation standards and all state and local standards are complied with by all team
members.

• Ensure OSHA safety standards are adhered to.
• Respond promptly and effectively to owner/customer/associate feedback.
• Recruit team members to deliver the highest levels of service and quality food.
• Provide team members with the tools, knowledge and experience they need to excel in their role.
• Develop thorough comprehensive job descriptions and job duty lists for each team member.
• Always strive for a win/win/win (Customer/Team Member/Press & Co.) solution.
• Set the example by the way you conduct business and interact with team members.
• Set and communicate goals and objectives on a regular basis.
• Provide action plans for existing team members to attain necessary competencies for career progression.
• Ensure associate training and development leads to retention of team members.
• Serve as a role model to all team members by following Press & Co.’s mission and philosophy day-to-day.
• Stay in touch with food trends via written materials and actual dining experiences in retail establishments.
