“What surprised me the most [about my time at NOCHI] was realizing how much I did not know about cooking… I felt like a newborn, in a good way!” said Tra’nique Brown. Grant Higginbotham adds: “A lot of us worked in restaurants, but some of us hadn’t, so it was kind of just a 5-month-long dance of figuring out our footing, learning who was comfortable with what, helping each other and motivating one another.”
